WE ARE OCHO, AN EUROPEAN ARTIST GROUP FOR PLANNING AND REALISATION OF JOINT EXHIBITIONS.
OCHO STRIVES TO IMPLEMENT THE INTERESTS AND GOALS TOGETHER. GUEST ARTISTS ARE INVITED TO THE CURRENT EXHIBITIONS.
IN THE SUMMER OF 2021, EIGHT EUROPEAN WOMEN ARTISTS FROM SPAIN, GERMANY AND ITALY HAVE JOINED FORCES IN THE OCHO GROUP TO EXHIBIT TOGETHER. TODAY ROBERTA LOZZI FROM ITALY, CONCHA GALEA, CAROLINE KRABBE AND SABINA HUBER FROM SPAIN, ANNE GEENE FROM THE NETHERLANDS AND DeDe HANDON, ASTRID STRICKER, JUTTA HEUN FROM GERMANY ARE PART OF US. ALL ARTISTS WORK IN THEIR OWN STUDIOS AND HAVE A STRONG ARTISTIC BACKGROUND. AFTER COMPLETING THEIR STUDIES, SOME OF THEM WERE MASTER STUDENTS AT EUROPEAN ART ACADEMIES AND THE WORKS OF ALL GROUP MEMBERS ARE PART OF MUSEUM OR PRIVATE COLLECTIONS. Statement to our upcoming Exhibition 2026 : We, the artists of OCHO, were born on the “right” side of the world—with freedom of movement, access to clean water, passports, and everything we call “the essentials.” We are the lucky ones. And from this privileged position, we choose to observe, feel, and respond. It is precisely within this tension—between closeness and distance, connection and separation—that the current discussion within the group unfolds. The oceans are under intense pressure: rising temperatures, plastic pollution, oil spills, overfishing, and invisible toxins are harming marine life and throwing entire ecosystems out of balance. How can we express this?
